The Oak Lodge is on the edge of the delightful old fishing village of Moelfre, which lies on the East Coast of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North West Wales. Moelfre is famous the world over for its maritime heritage, as it was where the Royal Charter sank in a terrible storm in 1859, on its return voyage from Australia. Moelfre has a working RNLI lifeboat station which boasts that one of its former crew, Dic Evans, is the only Coxwain to have won 2 gold medals for bravery, the maritime equivalent of a Victoria Cross. Moelfre and its locale has both pebble and sandy beaches and is an idyllic setting for a quiet, relaxing break.
